Manchester City and Chelsea vying for Jack Wilshere

Manchester City and Chelsea could reportedly compete for the services of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere at the end of the current campaign. The England international has just eight months left on his present deal, and talks over an extension are yet to progress.

Wilshere, 25, spent the previous campaign on loan with Bournemouth where he impressed before sustaining a season-ending injury in April. The playmaker has since managed to impress Arsene Wenger in training, and he is presently a regular for the Gunners in the League Cup and Europa League games.

Betting on the Premier League

The top four seem to have stamped their authority on the 2013/14 season before a ball’s been kicked, largely due to the fact that Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are keen to capitalise on Fergie’s retirement which has blown betting odds all over.

Many pundits are betting on Chelsea for the title in the wake of Mourinho’s return and the fact that players like Hazard and Oscar are a year more mature. Man City probably has the best squad in the league so they have a strong case for the 2013/14 title, but Arsenal could be the surprise package.
