SALAH EYEING THREE-GAME SCORING RUN

Mohamed Salah has scored in his last two games in all competitions for Liverpool and he can make it three games in a row if he finds the back of the net against Leeds United who stand in the way of the Reds and a three-point deficit to leaders Manchester City on the Premier League log.

At the moment, Premier League holders Manchester City have a six-point lead over the Reds who have played one less game than the Citizens. That extra Liverpool game is against Leeds United and it was originally scheduled for the end of December before it was postponed due to Covid-19 and injury cases in the Leeds camp. The Leeds United game has been scheduled to take place at Anfield on Wednesday night and a win for Liverpool will take them within three points of Manchester City with 12 games left to play and a maximum of 36 points to fight for between now and the rest of the season for both teams.

Salah and his Liverpool teammates will have three points on their minds ahead of the Leeds United game, but on a personal level the former AS Roma, FC Basel and Fiorentina star can make it three successive games on the scoresheet if he can find the back of the net against Leeds United. He has already scored against the same opponents in the league earlier this season and he can repeat the feat when the two teams meet again at Anfield later this week. Salah scored one of the goals in a 3-0 away win over 10-man Leeds in the first league meeting between the two teams this season.

Egyptian star Salah is on a two-match scoring run after he scored the second Liverpool goal during the 2-0 away win over Italian giants Inter Milan in the first leg of their last 16 tie in the Champions League. He made it two goals in two successive games with one of the strikes in the 3-1 comeback home win over relegation-threatened Norwich City in the league.
