Pep Guardiola Praises ‘Unstoppable’ Chelsea in Latest Mind Game

Pep Guardiola has tried to contribute his share of the mind games by claiming that Chelsea have been unstoppable this season.

A number of Premier League managers have tried to unsettle Chelsea, who have been the best team in the Premier league by a significant margin. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp suggested prior to the end of 2016 that Chelsea would be struggling in the league if not for the presence of Diego Costa. Back then, the Spaniard was scoring most of the goals and was leading the goal scoring charts. However, his form has deteriorated significantly ever since rumours about a move to China came about.

However, it has not been a problem for Chelsea who have just kept on winning. Even though the incredible 13 game winning run might have ended with the loss against Tottenham, the blues have been able to extend their lead at the top of the table courtesy of their main title rivals dropping points along the way. Chelsea’s recent form has not been spectacular with the team only managing three wins in the last five games.

Yet, City manager Guardiola had to speak about Chelsea in a glowing manner after their 2-0 win over Sunderland during the weekend. Chelsea do not play until Monday night when they take on London rivals West Ham in a very tough game.

“It’s a pity that the distance between Chelsea is so big.But that’s true. We are there behind, of course, Chelsea because they are almost unstoppable.I feel we are playing quite well and that’s why we are getting results. But now, of course, we are in a position when you arrive in March and April, every game if you win, you stay; if you lose, you are out. The players know, we know, the club knows, if we are not able to win the next game we will be out,” said Guardiola.
