MIDFIELD TRIO ON TARGET FOR CITY

The Manchester City midfielders did the business for the Citizens as they recorded their best performance in the Premier League this season to beat fellow title rivals Chelsea away from home. Manchester City scored three goals in the first half during their game at Chelsea and that was enough to win the league clash and lift them into the top five on the league standings. Manchester City were dominant against the Blues for the majority of the game as they secured a 3-1 away victory to make it three straight wins in the Premier League.


The Manchester City trio of IlkayGundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne were all on target for the Citizens who raced to a 3-0 lead at the halftime break. Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi came on for the hosts in the second half in place of Hakim Ziyech, who returned to the Blues starting XI for the Manchester City game after another injury layoff.Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a consolation goal for Chelsea in added time of the league clash at home to Manchester City to deny the visitors a third consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League.

Manchester City have not been at their fluent best in the league this season especially in front of goal but they showed signs that they might be returning to their best form during that win over Chelsea though they could have gotten more than the three first half goals as the Blues were very poor in the first 45 minutes of the game. The win ensured that Manchester City moved three places on the league standings to secure fifth position with 29 points. The four-time Premier League winners are now four points adrift of league leaders Liverpool who have played a game more. Manchester City have played 15 matches, while the Reds have played 16 matches.
