KDB ON TARGET IN BELGIUM WIN

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne scored one of the goals as Belgium had to come from behind to secure victory over Wales at home. The Manchester City playerwas on target to help Belgium make a fine start to their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign in Group E. Roberto Martinez and his Belgium players suffered a brief scare when Harry Wilson gave Wales a shock lead on 10 minutes and it took just 12 minutes for the Red Devils of Belgium to respond through Manchester City talisman De Bruyne. He showed his quality with a fine finish from the edge of the box to maintain his recent good goalscoring form.

Kevin De Bruyne has now scored in his last fourgames for club and country. He was on target twice when Manchester City beat Southampton 5-2 at home in their penultimate league game. De Bruyne sat out the last league game at the home of relegation threatened Fulham and he was unable to get on the scoresheet. He also scored one of the goals for his team in the 2-0 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach in the second leg of their last 16 tie.

Borussia Moenchengladbach lost 2-0 both home and away as Manchester City progressed to the next round via a 4-0 aggregate victory. Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester City will now face Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals.

KDB produced the goods for Belgium when it seemed like Wales had taken the initiative to get his team back in the game before Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard added a second goal six minutes after the equaliser from De Bruyne. Belgium wrapped up the 3-1 win over the Welsh team in the second half courtesy RomeluLukaku. The Inter Milan striker scored from the penalty spot to secure the points for his team.
