Erling Haaland could still improve, says Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has warned the Premier League clubs that Erling Haaland is still capable of improving much further. The comments from the former Barcelona manager came just after watching the Norwegian striker coming up with a brace in the 3-1 victory over Leeds United. This has made him the record holder in the Premier League to hit the fastest 20 goals. It has taken Haaland just 14 matches in order to hit the 20 league goals. He has been on fire since making a move to City in the summer.

One of the reasons for Guardiola believing even more in Haaland after having just hit 20 league goals would be the fact that the player is still recovering from a foot problem. Due to Norway lack of involvement in the World Cup, Haaland has had a long month of recovery and he is at the peak of his powers right now. Meanwhile, the striker even received praise from opponent coach Jesse Marsh, who was in charge of the player during his time at RB Salzburg. Everton will be the next team to take on Manchester City when they travel to the Etihad stadium on Saturday. Erling Haaland will be looking to add to his goal tally this weekend.

I think he is still not at his best because of the injury, to move his huge body is not easy for him but as much as he can play, minutes will be better.I had the feeling he is not at his best. It is a matter of time. [He is] always an incredible threat for the opponent. The numbers are unbelievable but I have the feeling he is not just coming here for the numbers, he wants to win it. Still there are 70 points to play for,” said Guardiola.
