CITY MAUL UNITED

Manchester United suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of arch rivals Manchester City in the derby between the two teams on Sunday. This match was expected to be the encounter David Moyes finally got his big win as Manchester United manager. This latest defeat means that he has now lost against three top teams. The result also leaves United five points adrift from the top of the table after having played just five matches. At one point in the match, it looked like City would go on and repeat the famous 6-1 score they achieved a few years ago.

However, United managed to improve slightly after the goal from Sergio Aguero that made it four, while the goal from Rooney near the end of the match gave the score some respectable outlook. Despite the goal, there has been a lot of criticism flowing in for manager Moyes. There was a lot of poor performances from big players like Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia, and Ashley Young. New signing Marouane Fellaini was used in the midfield alongside Carrick and he was at fault for many goals.

After the match, Moyes was extremely furious with his players and he demanded an instant reaction from them. United’s next match will be against Liverpool in the League Cup.

“I’ve made them aware of that. But if ever there was a group of players I’d expect a reaction from it would be a group of Manchester United players. I think the way they have been brought up, the way they have been bred with the manager previously, they react, that’s what they do, and that’s what we will do here. I just told the players it the way I would have told players at any other club if I don’t think they are doing it,” said Moyes.
