Balotelli valued at £200m

Even though he experienced a somewhat turbulent period at the Etihad Stadium last season, Mario Balotelli has undoubtedly made a name for himself at the recent Euro 2012 tournament. His exploits in Poland and Ukraine have caused his agent to get quite excited about his client’s potential, with Mino Raiola stating that the Italian is worth around £200m.

Raiola claims that the fact Balotelli plays for such a rich club means that his value is already sky high, while his potential at just 21-years-old means that he could become one of the best strikers in the world. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia he said, “The way I see it, he’s worth what the market wants. But remember that Balotelli is in a team that does not need to sell and therefore he has no price. If I really had to give him a value, I would say £200 million. I am crazy? Go and ask the club what their price would be. They have always said I’m crazy but, in my opinion, at 21 the boy still has potential to be one of the best in the world. At the moment, after these Euros, he is surely one of the best in Europe.”

However, despite his agents inflated opinion, it remains to be seen what the future for Balotelli holds. Roberto Mancini has made no secret of the fact that he gets deeply frustrated with the Italian, which really comes as no surprise considering some of the stunts he was involved in last season.

While he did manage to score seventeen goals, he also had his fair share of disciplinary problems that threatened City’s title bid significantly. However, after appearing much more mature at Euro 2012 and scoring three goals in the process, Mancini may decide to hand his young striker another chance.
