26-year-old Silva is no stranger to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta whom he worked with while the Gunners boss was in the Manchester City dugout as assistant manager. Arteta was the assistant to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for many years before Arsenal appointed him as their new manager in December 2019.

Arsenal have been linked with a lot of playmakers since missing out on Argentine player Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa at the start of this summer’s transfer market. Other playmakers linked with the Gunners include Leicester City star James Maddison, Lyon midfielder HoussemAouar and many more.

Apart from Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also possible destinations for Silva who was with the Portugal squad at the Euro 2020 tournament. Silva featured in all the four games played by Portugal at Euro 2020 before they crashed out of the tournament at the hands of the Red Devils of Belgium.

Portuguese international Silva is on the transfer list at Manchester City according to several media reports as the Premier League champions try to raise money to fund moves for both Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish and Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane.

Manchester City need more than £200m to secure the transfers of both Kane and Grealish this summer. To this effect, they need to raise funds. The Citizens value Silva at £60m which is not too expensive for a club like Arsenal.

Silva prefer a club like Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona ahead of Arsenal but the Catalan giants don’t have the financial means to pull off a move for him.
