JESUS DELIGHTED BY MAN CITY START

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus said on Wednesday that he had been “surprised” by his extraordinary start to life in the Premier League.

The Brazilian forward who has scored three goals in four games since completing his 27 million move from Brazilian side Palmeiras, has admitted that he is delighted with his strong start for the club, but is ‘very surprised’ at how fast it has happened.

The 19-year old rising star arrived in England last month after City agreed a deal with Brazilian side Palmeiras in pre-season.

While some overseas players take time to adjust to the physicality and pace of the Premier League, Jesus has settled in immediately with three goals in four appearances, including a double in Sunday’s 2-1 win at home to Swansea.

Such has been his impact, he has kept Argentina ace Sergio Aguero out of the side for the last two matches and Kelechi Iheanacho out of the squad altogether, which has in turn led to speculation about the future of both strikers at Manchester. Continue reading

MAN CITY DRAGS BEHIND AFTER LOSS TO EVERTON

According to Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, the club is out of the league race as they are far behind Chelsea with ten points, following a loss to Everton at Goodison Park.

The loss happened to be the heaviest league loss in Guardiola’s career as a manager.

Concerning his thoughts about the gap between his team and Chelsea, Guardiola admitted that the gap is a great one, affirming that ten is a lot of points. Although, he has encouraged his team players to remain focused and stay together in unity during bad moments and ignore what the table might have to tell until the end of the season.

Guardiola said: “At the end of the season, we are going to evaluate our level and how our performance was, how the coach was, how the players were. After that we are going to decide. We created chances, but we didn’t score and when they had chances, they punished us.” Continue reading

Guardiola Confirms Vincent Kompany Remains Part of Plans

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that defender Vincent Kompany still remains in his plans despite the numerous injury problems faced by the Belgian international.

The last time the 30-year-old made more than 40 appearances in a single campaign across all competitions was back in the 2011-12 campaign. Since then, he has been plagued by a one injury after the other and it has especially become worse in the last couple of seasons. He made only 22 appearances last season and most were as a substitute, while the season he has suffered featured in only five games.

Kompany was expected to be an integral part of the Guardiola regime considering that he is one of the top ball-playing centre backs around. However, his injury concern is a major problem for the club considering that they have been struggling on a defensive front with the leadership skills of the Belgian.

Joe Hart hints Finding Coach that can Rate him

Joe Hart hints that instead of taking Pep Guardiola’s views to heart and doubting himself, he would like to find a manager who rates him and respects his way of goalkeeping.

As per Hart, there are many views about a Football player and the views can be contrasting. Someone would say a player is fantastic and the other might say no, he is not. But, a player can’t listen to everyone.

In the case of Hart, it’s only the views of the selected people he says he listens to.

The goalie was quoted as, “Look, this I had understood long back that I could not make everyone happy with my game. There are people I have special bonding with and I leave it to them to see how I am going and when they come to me with an advice, I really consider it and implement it, but, I can’t implement every advice I get or I can’t tell myself ‘I have to show this guy that his opinion is wrong’ because with that mind-set, I will not help myself.” Continue reading

Pep Guardiola Says He Will Not Change His Methods after Heavy Loss

Pep Guardiola says that he will not change his approach to the game despite suffering yet another heavy defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

The former Barcelona manager returned to the Camp Nou hoping for a better experience this time around. Since leaving the Catalan club in 2012, Guardiola has suffered heavy defeat upon his return to the Spanish club. One of the most high-profile came in the Champions League semi-final when his Bayern Munich team suffered a 3-0 loss. Guardiola’s tactics has been questioned especially when it comes to the big matches.

Apart from his all-conquering Barcelona team, his teams have not had the same kind of influence in big matches. The overindulgence in trying to play out from the back was once again the reason for the calamitous result against Barcelona. Manchester City made too many mistakes in possession and it allowedthe home team to take advantage time and time again. Guardiola’s insistence on the goalkeeper being part of the outfield players by being involved in passing the ball at every opportunity was once again exposed, as Claudio Bravo committed a mistake and then was given a straight red card for handling the ball outside the box. STERLING FEARS FOR HIS CONFIDENCE AS GUARDIOLA ARRIVES MAN CITY

Three Lions pacy winger, Raheem Sterling fears for his Manchester City future due to a crisis of confidence over his form at the Etihad.

The Sky Blues player was said to be ‘distraught’ after coming off during the Three Lions’ 2-1 friendly victory over Turkey on Sunday, according to reports from The Mirror.

Sterling will be given a chance to rediscover his best in Friday’s friendly international against Australia, but has claimed he has been robbed of his rhythm and belief since joining City from Liverpool last summer in a £47million transfer. Sterling believes that the ‘two-touch’ style of football he has been encouraged to play under Manuel Pellegrini, which is likely to become even more pronounced under new City boss Pep Guardiola, does not suit his natural game, especially his ability to run at opposition defenders as he was used to Liverpool and hailed. Manuel Pellegrini worried about Points Table

Manuel Pellegrini believes that finishing in fifth spot of the Premier league will be a disaster come true for Manchester City.

The club were regarded as title contenders at the start of the campaign, but inconsistent form throughout the season has seen them slowly slip out of title contention. Now, they are in a position where they could realistically miss out on Champions League qualification for next season. They are fourth in the table, but Manchester United have reduced the deficit to City to just one point with two games left. City, worryingly, take on Arsenal away from home.

The gunners will be able to seal the third spot, which will guarantee automatic qualification to the Champions League, with a victory against City. This will be the foremost aim of Arsene Wenger’s team and it will not be easy to play against them at home. United seem to have the momentum and are favourites to win the remaining two matches. City have allowed themselves to be in this position after prioritising the Champions League semifinals over the league. Pellegrini, who will leave at the end of the campaign, seems to have desired going out on a high rather than ensuring top four finish since it will no longer be his problem come the end of the campaign.

“If you are not in the top four and in the Champions League the next year, to demonstrate you are one of the best teams in England, then for me it’s a disaster of a season. That’s why I always said last year, when we didn’t win any titles, that it was not a disaster. It was not a good season but a disaster is when you are not involved in the next season’s Champions League. That is a disaster for all the big teams,” saidPellegrini.

Ian Rush gets Impressed with Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool legend Ian Rush says that he is left impressed by manager Jurgen Klopp in his first few months in charge of Liverpool.

The German recently joined Liverpool as his next club after having left Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Klopp has a fearsome reputation for getting gruesome work effort from his players. It helped Dortmund qualify for the Champions League final against archrivals Bayern Munich at a fraction of the budget. Even though they failed to win the title,Klopp’s achievements with Dortmund have been seen as one of the finest in German football over the last few decades.

He has a huge history to live up to at Liverpool. This history will provide added pressure on his shoulders.Klopp was not used to this kind of pressure at Dortmund, who have significantly less history than Liverpool. Rush is the all-time top goal scorer for Liverpool with almost 350 goals in two spells at the club. It looks highly unlikely that his record will be broken in the near future. He has a major say in the proceedings at the Merseyside club.Klopp will feel happy that he has received backing from a former player like Rush. Even though the league form has been inconsistent, Liverpool qualified for a League Cup final this season. Continue reading
