CITY FRUSTRATED BY INJURIES

Manuel Pellegrini admits it’s frustrating for him to have to go into most of the games in the ongoing season without his vital senior players, but, he is pleased with the fact that the others have stepped up to the plate and have not let the club suffer.

In spite of all the injury setbacks, City sits at the top of the League standings having secured 29 points.

Apart from that, they have been able to make the quarter finals in Europe and Round of 4 in the domestic cup competition.  So, they are in contention for all the titles at the moment, and are fancied for a fair few of them by the pundits at himmelspill.com.

Talking about the injuries, Pellegrini said, “Any other side around the world, when the best players get injured, it becomes difficult and the performances take a beating. But, we have managed to be consistent even in the absence of our best players and that’s why, I am so proud.”

When asked with so many players on the sidelines being injured, if he would be looking to make some signings when the transfer window opens in the winters, the Chilean told a website, “No, it’s not going to be the case. We are satisfied with the squad that is there and we won’t slot in any replacement for anyone”

There’s not much gap between the teams in top 3 in the Premier League table in terms of the no. of points. Leicester City, the second positioned team, also has got 29 points in the same no. of games as Manchester City and Manchester United, at no. 3, is trailed by just 1 point. But, the Sky Blues’ goal differential of +16 is far superior to their rivals.

And, now, the good news for them is that David Silva is 100% and he is raring to go.
